Pass the courgette please....













 
 Just when you thought you knew it all.....new knowledge arrives! Here's an excerpt from Wikipedia:
"....In a culinary context, the zucchini is treated as a vegetable, which means it is usually cooked and presented as a savory dish or accompaniment. Botanically, however, the zucchini is an immature fruit, being the swollen ovary of the zucchini flower".

 So......tell the kids that fruit is being served up for dinner!

We grew extra zucchini plants this year.....allowing many to grow to full size (2-3ft). It's a great food source for the animals, keeps the monthly feed cost way down.
