Our creek may not have water......but

Each year our creek's water dries up as the summer months come forward. The flow is furious during the winters....as the creek will flood out the lower fields......bringing great natural nutrients to our land. I think we have the absolute best piece of farming land in the area!

For some folks that visit us......they see that creek has no water flowing and then assume that the creek is dead for the year til winter comes. That's a wrong assumption.

For months..... the grasses are thriving within the dry but moist dry creek. There are wild flowers such as the California Poppy, Camas, Wild Thistle, and Lupine to name a few. Bugs of every description and a few wild animals that makes home here at our creek. The ducks and the coyotes knows of this place.......

Here's another wild animal pictured below....sneaking through the tall grasses.....searching out for big game such as gophers. This stocky black and white 14 year old canine and her "wild" pack of four others......love this ol' creek. At the end of her hunting trek.....she returns to her sofa in the house.
