It's been a long haul these past five years....building this farm. The family thought I was nuts to start this project......I thought so too :-) The magical moment happens this week.....the start of the fruit stand construction.
This past month there were major improvements done in anticipation of this project. Shade trees and lavender shrubs planted along the roadside.....entrance improvements.....drainage coverts....dog proof (and rabbit) fence around the entire growing area .....much more.
So Tuesday the ground will be leveled......the tape measures hard at work...and the purchasing of materials needed for this project. On July 1, we hope to have the stand loaded with our goodies that will include Figs, 5 varieties of tomatoes, 4 types of squash, sweet corn, eggs.......well, the list is endless.
