This reminds me of trying to get into a fancy San Francisco restaurant on a Friday evening! Here is the first batch of chicks that we had delivered ...about six weeks ago. Much bigger. Much more talkative.
This week the ladies had bread crumbs for the first time. Must had been real tasty.....not a crumb left. Tomorrow's menu is lettuce, tomatoes and some squash. These veggies will be a first too for the chicks. Life is absolutely the best that these little critters could wish for.
Unlike the past years.......the loss of life due to the hawks doing some serious kill numbers http://thenatomasfarm.blogspot.com/2012/11/hawks-4-humans-0.html ....this batch had only one loss due to natural causes, I believe. With all the improvements made for raising the young chicks...it was certainly worth the effort.
