......welcome to our tomatoes all birdies
Yes....this post's title might sound as if Farmer Deno has a bird brain to grow tomatoes......
There are some really cool tricks to farming that not everyone will talk about. I am going to talk about how to have those wild birds help you out......growing your delicious tomatoes. I'll keep it simple and short to explain.
Take an empty tuna can and drill a hole in the middle of it. You can punch a hole into it as will if you don't own a power drill. Get a 7-8 foot long wooded post....stick...rod....anything that is firm and strong to hold a landing bird. Now screw the can onto that stick.
Take this contraption out to your garden of tomatoes....and stick it into the ground. Add fresh shelled peanuts ....and be don't be a cheapo with the peanuts....fill up to the rim! Does it might sound as if Farmer Deno has a bird brain to grow tomatoes yet ?
Now here is what happens: that bird lands on the rim of the tuna can to have a treat.....but wait.....it sees something else as he is pecking on the nuts .....that is far better that a treat! The birds see movement(s) within your tomato plants....it's those horned worms and other creepy crawlers.
Oh yes....they still need to have a drink of water. So....give them water!
