.....it's slightly cold out there
It's usually 2:00 a.m. and this is what I look like coming back into the warm house.....from dealing with the late night frost. Too many nights spent playing with Jack Frost.
Here at the farm.....we have chicken coops.....a green house....a few cold sensitive shrubs such as my prized Angel's Trumpet...up by the house. At issue is getting heat to these items without having to turn on the heat source before going to bed for the night. Running power most of the night.....is like pleading to get a shock.....from your monthly utility bill.
Sure..... I can cover up my sensitive shrubs as we do with our orange grove and lemons......but it has been ineffective. Xmas tree lights are a must to cuddle stuff such as Angel's Trumpets. The greenhouse can deal with the cold....to a point....but it must not freeze out there.....sprouts have their cold limits. Then there are the chicken coops......it's too expensive to give each hen a sweater!
The answer is this: The TC - 3. You simple plug this into the receptacle....then plug in your appliance such as a heater. That's it. Mo mess. No fuss. There are five models available with different temperature ranges to choose from. Each unit has two receptacles for use with more than one electrical device. Cold weather model TC-3 turns on at 35°F, off at 45°F and is ideal for our farm. It's inexpensive too.....about $18.oo Good new is that the company has these units for hot days as well.
This winter.....Jack Frost will not be hosting my nights.
