I must had counted 4 nests today on the Pluot orchard today. All vacated. It's amazing that a bird can build such a structure that can withstand 40 mph winds, rains, and a farmer doing his business. Perhaps us humans should live in nests.....
We encourage these nests in the fields. The birds will gather many unwanted bugs from our trees...such as boring beetles. It's a trade off...for they will consume some of the tree's fruits and rid many pests.
