What history has walked this door seen............
This old door came from a barn in the San Francisco bay area. The Mohring Ranch had this door when there was no phone and no electricity. This treasure was on it's way to become discarded when I intercepted it.
Made of old growth redwood, I say it's was made back in the 1930's. The Mohring Ranch was created in the late 1920's. They were heavily involved with strawberries and other crops that was sold to the San Francisco area. Now....it's a very large cattle ranch......where hundreds of cattle grazed the hills of Pinole, Ca.
I love to recycle stuff...for use here at our farm. This is a great example of recycling. It saves me the cost to manufacture or having to buy a door for the new coop that is currently being built. A little clean cut sawing...some pulling of old unwanted nails...a whack or two of the hammer......and it's hinged up on the coop already.
More history will walk through it again.....
