.....it's been a busy summer

The Calvary Lutheran Church of Rio Linda was just one of the "show n tell" shows we did this summer. Farmer Deno and Doc Jeanette likes to get involve with the community to do these events......and in return we get our name out there in the community.....and goodwill. Our booths are informational only.....we don't sell at any events.

What we do is give out answers to questions about our farm....questions that folks have about their gardens.....explanations of why we are a Sustainable farm (and what does that mean). Our best "hook" for these shows is to give away free Pluots. I say that 95% of the attending folks of these events....never has had a Pluot. They all love the fruit. If not Pluots...then we give away whatever might be in season.

............and the Natomas Farm is the only farm that grow these within miles. "Ching ching Cha-Ching"!

http://www.thenatomasfarm.com/ is a honorary member of the Historical Society, we were invited to set up our vintage mobile fruit stand at the coming car Show/swap event this past weekend of 8.30.14.

We advertised to "Come meet Farmer Deno....ask questions about your garden or about our Sustainable Farm..... You can even ask questions about "me". Come see the big display of fresh locally grown produce..... grown 100% from right here in good ol' Rio Linda."

Oh.....and we gave giving away 100 pounds of Pluots (that's about 700 pieces of fruit) there also.

Rio Linda/Elverta Historical Society Car Show/swap meet was at the Historic Dry Creek Ranch House located at 6852 Dry Creek Road in Rio Linda. They have many cool events...you should look them up on the web.

The true fact is that our farm is involved with many of the community events and such. We not only donate our personal time to the local food bank helping out each Thursday morning ......we donate resources, food and cash as well. The farm donates to a few churches here in town too...with our produce to help out with their community dinners.

The Rio Linda Library asked us to do little farm demonstration at their Cowboy and Cowgirl Weekend affair....for the little ones. We felt very honored to do so....along with the rest of the vendors that came in with a petting farm animal arena ....to the roping cowboy demonstration.

Yes......get involved with the community that you are farming in....the payoffs are huge: gratification
