Walk into any feed store and feel your wallet start to quiver ......the fright from those prices on the merchandise! Farmer Deno has learned why so many farms has "home made" contraptions.... saves money.
Take the chicken feeders for example. Tin feeders are around $40. The plastic built ones are half the price....and are 100% pure junk. Dont get suckered into buying plastic anything for the farm....between the sun beating on it til it gets brittle and falls apart..........to the animals playing soccer.....just junk.
Here's what I did......and my wallet did'nt get broke. At the local hardware store.... hot water heater drip pans http://www.oatey.com/img/subcategory/34170.jpg are available. Next......find a used 5 - gallon nursery pot. This can be a clay as well. I say "used" because repurposing is a key way to make money (by saving money). Attach the pot in any fashion that you wish...to the center of the drip pan. Walla......chicken feeder!
