Did you realize that a bee can visit up to 5,000 flowers in a single day? 50 to 100 flowers the honey bee visits...... during one collection trip. Two million flowers must the honey bees tap to make .....one pound of honey. All this is done with 4 wings....not two as you most likely thought!

Honey bees fly about 55,000 miles to bring in enough nectar to make one pound of honey ......an average of 1,600 round trips in order to produce one ounce of honey. For all of this work......the typical foraging honey bee will work herself to death in about three weeks.
Oh...the Queen bee above......that's my Grand daughter. I understand that she has a fairly significant sting when disturbed.
